Removal and installation tool, fixed orifice tube

Remover, faulty fixed orifice tube

412-035 (34-005)

1. 

   NOTE:Apply "Health and safety and precautionary measures". For additional information, refer to Section  100-00 General Information.
   Standard preparatory measures
   • Place protective covers over the fenders.

2. Drain the air conditioning system. For additional information, refer to Section  412-00 Climate Control System - General Information.

3. 

   NOTE:Do not drain the power steering or disconnect any hoses. Store the power steering fluid reservoir upright.
   Pull the power steering reservoir out of its mounting and place to one side.

4. Disconnect the refrigerant line and place the refrigerant line to the air conditioning evaporator higher up.

5. Remove the fixed orifice tube.
   • Insert the remover into the refrigerant line and hook it into the fixed orifice tube.
   • Turn the nut clockwise and pull out the fixed orifice tube.

6. 

   NOTE:Only necessary if the fixed orifice tube is damaged.
   Remove the damaged fixed orifice tube.
   • Use special removal tool 34-005 in conjunction with special removal tool 34-004.

1. Refit the components in reverse order.

2. Evacuate and refill the air conditioning system. For additional information, refer to Section  412-00 Climate Control System - General Information.

3. Standard finishing operations:
   • Remove the protective covers.

4. Check the operation of the heater/air conditioning system.
