Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:”Observe the "Health and Safety Rules". For additional information, refer to Section  100-00 General Information.
    Standard preparatory measures
    • Place protective covers over the fenders.
  1. Drain the air conditioning system. For additional information, refer to Section  412-00 Climate Control System - General Information.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Seal the refrigerant line and connection immediately with plugs.
    Disconnect the refrigerant line from the accumulator/dehydrator to the air conditioning compressor and pull off the plug of the air conditioning low pressure switch.
  1. Raise the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Remove the radiator undershield (if fitted).

  1. Detach the accumulator/dehydrator.

  1. Remove the air conditioning system low pressure switch.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Seal the refrigerant line and connection immediately with plugs.
    Disconnect the refrigerant line from the accumulator/dehydrator to the air conditioning compressor.

Installation

NOTE:
NOTE:Renew the O-rings and smear them with refrigerant oil.
  1. Refit the components in reverse order.

  1. Evacuate and refill the air conditioning system. For additional information, refer to Section  412-00 Climate Control System - General Information.
  1. Standard finishing operations:
    • Remove the protective covers.
  1. Check the operation of the heater/air conditioning system.
