Air Conditioning - Low-Pressure Cutoff Switch Mondeo 1997 (08/1996-09/2000)
Removal and Installation

Removal
  1. Disconnect the A/C low-pressure switch connector.
  1. Start the engine and switch on the air conditioning.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Ensure that the A/C compressor is turning during removal of the low-pressure switch.
    Connect pin 1 and pin 4 of the low-pressure switch connector to a fused cable bridge (20-amp fuse) on the wiring loom side.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Ensure that the low-pressure switch valve closes completely after the switch has been removed, to prevent refrigerant from escaping.
    Remove the A/C low-pressure switch.
    • Discard the O-rings.

Installation

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install new low-pressure switch O-rings.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Apply clean refrigerant oil on the low-pressure switch O-rings before installing them.
    Refit the components in reverse order.
