Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Remove the upper intake manifold. For additional information, refer to Section  303-01A Engine / 303-01B Engine / 303-01C Engine / 303-01D Engine / 303-01E Engine.

  1. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector.

  1. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.
    • Detach the retaining clips from the valve cover.

  1. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors.

  1. Detach the fuel injector wiring harness retaining clips from the fuel injection supply manifold.

  1. Disconnect the ignition coil pack and ignition coil pack suppressor electrical connectors.

  1. Detach the fuel charging wiring harness retaining clip from the valve cover.

  1. Detach the fuel charging wiring harness retaining clip from the valve cover.

  1. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.

  1. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Disconnect the oil pressure switch electrical connector.
  1. Lower the vehicle.

  1. Detach the fuel charging wiring harness retaining clip from the valve cover.

  1. Disconnect the fuel charging wiring harness electrical connectors.
  1. Remove the fuel charging wiring harness.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Initialize the door window motors. For additional information, refer to Section  501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms.
