Electronic Engine Controls - 1.8L Duratec-HE (MI4)/2.0L Duratec-HE (MI4) - Intake Manifold Tuning (IMT) Valve Mondeo 2001 (10/2000-02/2007)
Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.

  1. Detach the pipes and hoses from the engine upper cover.

  1. Remove the engine upper cover.

  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.

  1. Disconnect the vacuum line from the IMT valve.

  1. Disconnect the actuator arm from the IMT valve.

  1. Detach the throttle body.

  1. Remove the IMT valve.

Installation
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Tighten the throttle body retaining bolts in the sequence shown.
  1. Initialize the door window motors. For additional information, refer to Section  501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms.
