Remove the strut and spring assembly top mount brace cover. | | -
Loosen the strut and spring assembly top mount nuts by four turns. | | -
CAUTION:Support the halfshaft. The inner joint must not be bent more than 18 degrees. The outer joint must not be bent more than 45 degrees. Using the special tool, detach the left-hand halfshaft from the transaxle and secure it to one side. - Remove and discard the snap ring.

Using the special tools, remove the halfshaft seal cap. - Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container.

Using the special tool, punch mark the halfshaft seal. | | -
NOTE:Screw a self-tapping screw a maximum of two turns into the halfshaft seal. Remove the halfshaft seal. - Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container.
| Installation | -
CAUTION:Install the halfshaft seal flush with the transaxle housing. Using the special tool, install the halfshaft seal. | | -
CAUTION:Install the halfshaft seal cap flush with the stub shaft. Using the special tool, install the halfshaft seal cap. | | -
CAUTION:Support the halfshaft. The inner joint must not be bent more than 18 degrees. The outer joint must not be bent more than 45 degrees. CAUTION:Do not damage the halfshaft seal. CAUTION:Make sure the snap ring is correctly seated. CAUTION:Lubricate the O-ring seal with grease. NOTE:Install a new O-ring seal. NOTE:Install a new snap ring. Attach the halfshaft to the transaxle. | | -
Tighten the strut and spring assembly top mount nuts. | | -
Install the strut and spring assembly top mount brace cover. | | |
