Parking Brake Warning Lamp: Description and Operation
BRAKE WARNING SYSTEM - The brake warning indicator:

Can be actuated by the parking brake control.

Warns the driver to release the parking brake control before driving the vehicle.
^
Indicates a brake malfunction if the indicator remains illuminated.
^
The parking brake signal switch is an adjustable spring-loaded screw-type switch.
^
When the parking brake control is activated, contact between screw head and a ground plate is broken activating the brake warning indicator.
