Camshaft: Testing and Inspection
End Play
1. Remove valve covers (6582).
2. Using Dial Indicator with Bracketry TOOL-4201-C or equivalent, measure end play while moving camshaft back and forth. If the end play is
greater than specification, replace camshaft and/or cylinder head.
Standard: 0.025-0.165 mm (0.00098-0.006496 inch).
Limit: 0.190 mm (0.007480 inch).
3. Install valve covers. Follow proper procedure and tighten bolts to specification in sequence.
