Connecting Rod: Testing and Inspection
Piston Pin Fit
1. Check the outside diameter (OD) of the piston pin and record. If not 22.0005-22.0030 mm (0.8661596-0.8662581 inch) replace pin.
2. Check the inside diameter (ID) of the pin bore in the piston and record. If not 21.9985-22.0025 mm (0.86610-0.86620 inch) replace piston.
3. Check the inside diameter (ID) of the pin bore in the connecting rod and record. If not 22.012-22.024 mm (0.8666-0.8671 inch) replace
connecting rod.
4. Replace any piston pin or connecting rod that is not within specification.
NOTE: The piston pin should be larger than the piston.
5. Subtract the piston pin diameter from the piston's piston pin bore. The difference is the interferance.
Clearance: 0.0025-0.0045 mm (0.0000787-0.0001771 inch).
6. Subtract the connecting rod's piston pin bore from the piston pin diameter. The difference is the clearance.
Standard: 0.004-0.0175 mm (0.000157-0.000689 inch).
Service Limit: 0.035 mm (0.001378 inch).
7. Replace any component that is not within specification.
