Removal and Installation Special Tool(s) | Alignment Pins, Subframe 205-316 (15-097A) | Removal | -
Disconnect the flexible coupling from the steering gear pinion. - Loosen the bolt.
- Slide the coupling up the steering shaft.

Detach the stabilizer bar connecting links from the stabilizer bar. | | -
Detach the gearshift linkage. | | -
Remove the engine cooling fan and shroud assembly. For additional information, refer to Section 303-03 Engine Cooling. | | -
CAUTION:Over bending of the flexible pipe may cause damage resulting in failure. Support the flexible pipe with a support wrap or suitable splint assembly. | | -
Detach the exhaust front pipe. | | -
Remove the lower exhaust heat shield. | | -
Remove the roll restrictor to transmission retaining bolt. | | -
Detach the ABS sensor cables. | | -
Remove the crossmember retaining bolts (Support not shown for clarity). | | -
Lower the crossmember to gain access to the stabilizer bar securing clamp bolts. | | -
Remove the stabilizer bar. - Detach the two retaining clamps.
| Installation | -
Install the stabilizer bar. | | -
Raise the crossmember engaging the guide pins into the alignment holes. - Push the guide pins through the crossmember aligning holes.
- Slide the locking plates into the locking grooves and tighten the guide pin sleeves.

Install the crossmember retaining bolts. | | -
Install the ABS sensor cables. | | -
Install the roll restrictor to transmission retaining bolt. | | -
Install the lower exhaust heat shield. | | -
CAUTION:Over bending of the flexible pipe may cause damage resulting in failure. Install the exhaust front pipe | | -
Remove the flexible pipe support. | | -
Install the cooling fan and shroud assembly. For additional information, refer to Section 303-03 Engine Cooling. | | -
Install the gearshift linkage. | | -
Install the stabilizer bar connecting links to the suspension units. | | -
NOTE:Make sure that the steering is in the straight ahead position. Connect the flexible coupling to the steering shaft and the steering gear pinion shaft. Tighten the coupling to steering shaft pinch bolt. | | |
