Install the cam ring on the dowel pins with the rotation arrow toward the rear of the housing as shown in Fig. 2.
12.
Install the vanes in the rotor slots with the rounded edge of the vanes outward, Fig. 3. Ensure the vanes slide freely.
13.
Lubricate the pressure plate with previously specified ATF or equivalent to prevent damage to the pressure plate O-ring seal.
14.
Install the pressure plate on the dowel pins with the circular spring depression toward the rear of the housing, Fig. 4. The narrow slots in the plate
should engage the dowel pins. To seat the pressure plate, press it about 1/16 inch over the O-ring.
15.
Lubricate a new end plate O-ring with specified ATF or equivalent, then install it in the second groove from the rear of the housing.

Install the pressure plate spring in the groove in the pressure plate.
17.
Lubricate the end plate with power steering fluid to prevent damage to the O-ring, then press it into the housing with an Arbor Press. Depress the
end plate only far enough to allow installation of the retaining ring in its groove.
18.
Install the end plate retaining ring, then release Arbor Press.
19.
Place the control valve spring in its hole, then insert the control valve with the screened end towards the front of the housing.
20.
Install new mounting bolt and pressure union seals in the countersunk holes.
21.
Lubricate a new reservoir O-ring seal with specified ATF or equivalent, then install it on the housing.
22.
Lubricate the inside edge of the reservoir with power steering fluid, then install it on the housing. Align the holes in the reservoir and housing.
Replacement reservoirs do not have an identification number. If a new reservoir is installed, imprint the model number of the worn or
damaged reservoir on the new part for future reference.
23.
Insert the mounting bolt, then torque to 35 ft. lbs.
24.
Lubricate a new O-ring with specified ATF or equivalent, then install it on the pressure union in the groove next to the head hex.
25.
Insert the pressure union in the flow control valve hole in the back of the reservoir.
