NOTICE: To prevent system failure, it is necessary to carry out the Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) system reset when a front passenger
seat cushion is disassembled, a new trim cover installed or an OCS system service kit is installed. A scan tool is used to carry out the OCS
system reset.
NOTE: The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the correct Restraints Control Module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition is ON.
NOTE: The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
NOTE: Driver seat shown, passenger seat similar.
All seats
1. Remove the affected seat. For additional information, refer to Seat - Front See: Service and Repair/Front Seats/Seat - Front.
2. Remove the backrest. For additional information, refer to Seat Backrest - Front, Bucket and 40 Percent See: Removal and Replacement/Seat
Backrest - Front, Bucket and 40 Percent.
3. Release the backrest J-clip.
4. NOTICE: Use care when separating the seat back trim cover from the hook-and-loop strips or the hook-and-loop strips may be torn from
the seat back foam.
Release the hook-and-loop strips and invert the backrest cover to the row of hog rings.
5. Remove the row of hog rings.
6. Remove the backrest trim cover and foam pad.
Seats with manual lumbar
7. Remove the lumbar support assembly.
1. Remove and discard the tie strap.
2. Flex the lumbar support.
3. Unhook the lumbar support adjusting cable.
4. Unhook and remove the lumbar support adjusting cable.
5. Detach the lumbar support from the guide wires. Remove the lumbar support.
