Principles of Operation

Inspection and Verification

  1. Verify the customer concern.
  1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.

Measure the voltage between the:
  • EPB module C4CB01 pin 13, circuit C_SBR03A (BU/RD), harness side and ground.
  • EPB module C4CB01 pin 15, circuit C_SBR02A (YE/RD), harness side and ground.

Are the voltages greater than 10 volts?
Yes
No
B3: CHECK THE PARKING BRAKE RELEASE ACTUATOR CIRCUITS

Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect Parking Brake Release Actuator C4CB07.
CAUTION:
CAUTION:Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of foreign material.

Measure the resistance between the:
  • EPB module C4CB01 pin 12, circuit CCB18B (YE/GY), harness side and the parking brake release actuator C4CB07 pin 1, circuit CCB18A (YE/GY), harness side.
  • EPB module C4CB01 pin 27, circuit CCB19A (GN/BN), harness side and the parking brake release actuator C4CB07 pin 2, circuit CCB19B (GN/BN), harness side.

Are the resistances less than 2 ohms?
Yes
INSTALL a new parking brake release actuator.
REFER to: Parking Brake Release Actuator (206-05 Parking Brake and Actuation, Removal and Installation).
REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs.
No
REPAIR circuit CCB18A (YE/GY), or circuit CCB18B (YE/GY), or circuit CCB19A (GN/BN), or circuit CCB19B (GN/BN). REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs.
B4: CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE EPB MODULE

Measure the voltage between the:
  • EPB module C4CB01 pin 13, circuit C_SBR03A (BU/RD), harness side and ground.
  • EPB module C4CB01 pin 15, circuit C_SBR02A (YE/RD), harness side and ground.

Is any voltage present?
Yes
Check the charging system.
REFER to: Charging System (414-00 Charging System - General Information, Diagnosis and Testing).
REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs.
No
REPAIR circuit C_SBR02A (YE/RD) or circuit C_SBR03A (BU/RD). REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs.

PINPOINT TEST C : DTC C2005.95: RIGHT ACTUATOR FAULT

  • EPB module C4CB01 pin 15, circuit C_SBR02A (YE/RD), harness side and ground.

Are the voltages greater than 10 volts?

No
E3: CHECK THE PARKING BRAKE RELEASE ACTUATOR CIRCUITS

Ignition switch in position 0.

Disconnect Parking Brake Release Actuator C4CB06.
CAUTION:
CAUTION:Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of foreign material.

Measure the resistance between the:
  • EPB module C4CB01 pin 14, circuit CCB16B (WH/VT), harness side and the parking brake release actuator C4CB06 pin 1, circuit CCB16A (WH/VT), harness side.
  • EPB module C4CB01 pin 29, circuit CCB17A (BU/GN), harness side and the parking brake release actuator C4CB06 pin 2, circuit CCB17B (BU/GN), harness side.

Are the resistances less than 2 ohms?
Yes
INSTALL a new parking brake release actuator.
REFER to: Parking Brake Release Actuator (206-05 Parking Brake and Actuation, Removal and Installation).
REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs.
No
REPAIR circuit CCB16A (WH/VT), or circuit CCB16B (WH/VT), or circuit CCB17A (BU/GN), or circuit CCB17B (BU/GN). REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs.
E4: CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE EPB MODULE

Measure the voltage between the:
  • EPB module C4CB01 pin 13, circuit C_SBR03A (BU/RD), harness side and ground.
  • EPB module C4CB01 pin 15, circuit C_SBR02A (YE/RD), harness side and ground.

Is any voltage present?
Yes
Check the charging system.
REFER to: Charging System (414-00 Charging System - General Information, Diagnosis and Testing).
REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs.
No
REPAIR circuit C_SBR02A (YE/RD) or circuit C_SBR03A (BU/RD). REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs.

PINPOINT TEST F : DTC C2006.95: LEFT ACTUATOR FAULT

PINPOINT TEST G : DTC C2007.01/18: RIGHT MOTOR FAULT

Disconnect EPB Module C4CB01.

Measure the resistance between the EPB module C4CB01 pin 12, circuit CCB18B (YE/GY), harness side and the EPB module C4CB01 pin 27, circuit CCB19A (GN/BN), harness side

Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes
No
REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs. If the DTC remains GO to G2.
G2: CHECK THE PARKING BRAKE RELEASE ACTUATOR CIRCUITS
1
Disconnect Parking Brake Release Actuator C4CB07.
CAUTION:
CAUTION:Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of foreign material.

Measure the resistance between the:
  • EPB module C4CB01 pin 12, circuit CCB18B (YE/GY), harness side and the parking brake release actuator C4CB07 pin 1, circuit CCB18A (YE/GY), harness side.
  • EPB module C4CB01 pin 27, circuit CCB19A (GN/BN), harness side and the parking brake release actuator C4CB07 pin 2, circuit CCB19B (GN/BN), harness side.

Are the resistances less than 2 ohms?
Yes
INSTALL a new parking brake release actuator.
REFER to: Parking Brake Release Actuator (206-05 Parking Brake and Actuation, Removal and Installation).
REPEAT the self-test, CLEAR the DTCs.
No
