Removal and Installation

Removal

NOTE:
NOTE:Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Remove the catalytic converter.
    Refer to: Catalytic Converter (309-00D Exhaust System - 2.0L Duratorq-TDCi (DW) Diesel, Removal and Installation).

  1. Torque:
    1 5 Nm
    2 10 Nm

  1. Torque: 5 Nm

  1. Remove the following items:
    1. Fuel filter
      Refer to: Fuel Filter (310-01D Fuel Tank and Lines - 2.0L Duratorq-TDCi (DW) Diesel, Removal and Installation).
    1. Thermostat housing
      Refer to: Thermostat (303-03D Engine Cooling - 2.0L Duratorq-TDCi (DW) Diesel, Removal and Installation).
    1. Exhaust manifold
      Refer to: Exhaust Manifold (303-01E Engine - 2.0L Duratorq-TDCi (DW) Diesel, Removal and Installation).

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Only tighten the bolts finger tight at this stage.

  1. Torque: 10 Nm
  1. Remove the camshafts.
    Refer to: Camshafts (303-01E Engine - 2.0L Duratorq-TDCi (DW) Diesel, Removal and Installation).

Installation
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that a new component is installed.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that new cylinder head bolts are installed.
    Tighten the cylinder head bolts in two stages in the sequence indicated.
    Torque:
    Stage 1:
    60 Nm
    Stage 2:
    220°
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
