Removal and Installation

Removal

NOTE:
NOTE:Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Remove the air cleaner.
    Refer to: Air Cleaner (303-12, Removal and Installation).
  1. Remove the catalytic converter.
    Refer to: Catalytic Converter (309-00 Exhaust System - 1.8L Duratorq-TDCi (Lynx) Diesel, Removal and Installation).

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Note the position of the component before removal.
    Discard the clamp.

  1.  
    1. Discard the nut.

  1. Discard the oil supply tube.

Installation
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that a new component is installed.
    Torque: 35 Nm

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Only tighten the bolts finger tight at this stage.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Only tighten the nuts and bolts finger tight at this stage.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that a new component is installed.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that the clamp is installed to the same orientation as when removed.
    Torque: 5 Nm

  1.  
    1. Torque: 10 Nm
    1. Torque: 10 Nm
    1. Torque: 23 Nm
    1. Torque: 35 Nm
    1. Torque:
      Turbocharger bracket nuts 25 Nm
      Turbocharger bracket bolt 45 Nm

  1. Torque: 25 Nm

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that the inside of the pipe ends are clean and free of oil residue.

  1. Torque: 24 Nm
  1. Install the catalytic converter.
    Refer to: Catalytic Converter (309-00 Exhaust System - 1.8L Duratorq-TDCi (Lynx) Diesel, Removal and Installation).
  1. Install the air cleaner.
    Refer to: Air Cleaner (303-12, Removal and Installation).
