Removal and Installation

Special Tool(s)

Timing Peg, Crankshaft TDC

Removal

  1. Remove the generator.
    Refer to: Generator - 1.8L Duratorq-TDCi (Kent) Diesel (414-02 Generator and Regulator, Removal and Installation).

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that the crankshaft is not rotated while the special tool is installed.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:The special tool can only be installed if the valve timing is correct.

  1. Discard the CKP sensor.

Installation

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that a new component is installed.
    • If the new CKP sensor has a raised feature on the tip, follow steps 2, 3 and 4.
    • If the new CKP sensor has a flat tip, follow steps 5 through to 10.

  1. Push the CKP sensor against the flywheel.
    Torque: 6 Nm

  1. Special Tool(s): 303-193
  1. Install the generator.
    Refer to: Generator - 1.8L Duratorq-TDCi (Kent) Diesel (414-02 Generator and Regulator, Removal and Installation).

  1. Install the CKP sensor against the flywheel.

  1. Using suitable feeler gauges, take note of the measurement of the gap between the CKP sensor and the CKP sensor housing.

  1.  
    1. Add 1.2 mm to the measurement recorded in step 6. Using suitable feeler gauges set to the calculated figure, set the gap between the CKP sensor and the CKP sensor housing.
    1. Finger tighten the CKP sensor bolt.

  1. Torque: 6 Nm

  1. Special Tool(s): 303-193
  1. Install the generator.
    Refer to: Generator - 1.8L Duratorq-TDCi (Kent) Diesel (414-02 Generator and Regulator, Removal and Installation).
