Removal and Installation

General Equipment
Flat-bladed screwdriver
Round-ended steel rule

Removal

All vehicles
WARNING:
WARNING:The supplemental restraint system (SRS) is active for a certain length of time after the power supply has been disconnected. Wait for a minimum of 3 minutes before disconnecting or removing any SRS components.
WARNING:
WARNING:Wear safety goggles.
WARNING:
WARNING:Do not probe supplemental restraint system (SRS) electrical connectors.
NOTE:
NOTE:Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).
  1. Remove the following items:
    1. Refer to: Floor Console Upper Section - Vehicles With: Manually Adjusted Parking Brake/Center Armrest (501-12 Instrument Panel and Console, Removal and Installation).
    1. Refer to: Floor Console Upper Section - Vehicles With: Manually Adjusted Parking Brake, Vehicles Without: Center Armrest (501-12 Instrument Panel and Console, Removal and Installation).
    1. Refer to: Floor Console - VIN Plate Body Style Code: S, Vehicles With: Electronic Parking Brake (501-12 Instrument Panel and Console, Removal and Installation).
    1. Refer to: Floor Console - VIN Plate Body Style Code: M, Vehicles With: Electronic Parking Brake (501-12 Instrument Panel and Console, Removal and Installation).
    1. A-Pillar trim panels.
      Refer to: A-Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
    1. Audio unit.

      Refer to: Navigation System Display Module - Vehicles With: Travel Pilot EX (415-01 Information and Entertainment System, Removal and Installation).

    1. Headlamp switch.
      Refer to: Headlamp Switch (417-01 Exterior Lighting, Removal and Installation).
Vehicles with DVD navigation system with Touchscreen
  1. Remove the navigation system digital versatile disc (DVD) unit.
    Refer to: Navigation System Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) Unit (415-01 Information and Entertainment System, Removal and Installation).
All vehicles

  1. On both sides.

  1. Torque: 8 Nm

  1. General Equipment: Round-ended steel rule

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that the road wheels are in the straight ahead position.

  1. WARNING:
    WARNING:Make sure that new bolts are installed.
    Torque: 30 Nm

  1. Torque: 24 Nm

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Use suitable packing material to prevent damage to the component.
    General Equipment: Flat-bladed screwdriver
Vehicles with manual temperature control

Vehicles with electronic automatic temperature control (EATC)

All vehicles

  1. Torque: 10 Nm

  1. On both sides.

  1. On both sides.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
