Removal and Installation

Removal

NOTE:Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Remove the rear wheels.
    Refer to: Wheel and Tire (204-04 Wheels and Tires, Removal and Installation).

  1. On both sides.

  1. If equipped.
    Torque: 95 Nm

Vehicles with VIN plate body code: M

  1. On both sides.
    General Equipment: Knife
Vehicles with VIN plate body code: S

  1. On both sides.

Installation

Vehicles with VIN plate body code: M

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Cutlines may already exist on the inner surface of a new bumper cover.
    On both sides.
    General Equipment: Round-ended steel rule
    General Equipment: 15 mm drill bit
Vehicles with VIN plate body code: S

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Cutlines may already exist on the inner surface of a new bumper cover.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that the measuring tape has contact to the inner surface of the bumper cover while measuring.
    On both sides.
    General Equipment: Round-ended steel rule
    General Equipment: 15 mm drill bit
All vehicles

    1. Align the flattened side horizontal upwards, before punching each hole.
      Special Tool(s): 501-130

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that the correct parking aid sensor housing is used as a template to mark the position of the location grooves.
    General Equipment: Flat file

    NOTE:Make sure that the correct parking aid sensor housing is used as a template to mark the position of the location grooves.
