Rear End Sheet Metal Repairs - Rear Outer Wheelhouse Half Section S-MAX/Galaxy 2006.5 (03/2006-)
Removal and Installation

  1. Replacement parts
      NOTE:
      NOTE:For a partial replacement the required replacement part needs to be cut out from the complete inner quarter panel with wheelhouse.
    • Inner quarter panel with wheel housing

Removal

  1. General Notes
    • Before starting the repair work, remove the quarter panel, C-pillar reinforcement and the rocker panel.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:When replacing the rear part only (partial replacement) the C-pillar reinforcement does not need to be removed.
    Outer wheelhouse
    • Separating cut for rear partial replacement.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The residual flange (15 mm) is needed for welding in the components with an overlap.
    Outer wheelhouse
    • Cut location.

  1. Outer wheelhouse (inside view)
    1. Mill out the spot welds.
    1. Grind out the spot welds.

Installation
  1. Outer wheelhouse
    • Resistance spot weld.

  1. Outer wheelhouse (inside view)
    • Resistance spot weld.
