Radiator - Remove and Install (24 254 0)

Scorpio 1995 (10/1994-06/1998)

Removal and Installation

Remove

1. Raise the vehicle and remove the undershield.

WARNING:

When releasing the system pressure, cover the cap with a thick cloth to prevent the possibility of scalding.

2. Drain the coolant into a suitable container.

• Undo the radiator drain plug and remove the expansion tank cap.

• Close the radiator drain plug when the coolant has finished draining.

3. Disconnect the lower transmission fluid hose (if fitted).

Drain any displaced fluid into a suitable container.

4. Lower the vehicle.

5. Disconnect the top hose.

6. Disconnect the upper transmission fluid hose (if fitted).

Drain any displaced fluid into a suitable container.

V6 engines only

7. Disconnect the expansion tank hose.

All vehicles

8. Remove the right ‐ hand fan shroud retaining nut.

9. Raise the vehicle.

10. Disconnect the bottom hose.

11. Detach the cooling fan wiring.

1. Disconnect two multiplugs.

2. Cut the cable ties.

12. Remove the left ‐ hand fan shroud retaining nut.

13. Unclip the coolant pipe.

14. Remove the fan shroud and fan assembly.

CAUTION:

Take care that the radiator is not damaged during removal.

15. Remove the radiator (two bolts).

Install

16. Refit the components in reverse order.

17. Refill the cooling system and check for leaks.

18. Check and refill the power steering reservoir as necessary.
