Removal and Installation
Remove

1. Disconnect the battery earth lead.

2. Remove the manifold heat shield.
• Three bolts.
• One nut.

3. Disconnect the catalyst/downpipe.
1. Two nuts.
2. Two bolts.

4. Remove the front HO2S sensor.
1. Disconnect the multiplug.
2. Remove the HO2S sensor.
5. Raise the vehicle.

6. Remove the rear HO2S sensor.
• Unclip the multiplug from the retaining clip on the transmission crossmember.
1. Disconnect the multiplug.
2. Remove the HO2S sensor.

7. Remove the crossmember.
   Four bolts.

8. Disconnect the muffler flange.
   Two nuts.

9. Disconnect the transmission mounting bracket (one bolt).

10. Disconnect the catalyst support band (two bolts).

NOTE:

If the catalyst is to be refitted care must be taken not to damage the assembly, excessive force may damage the internal ceramic substrates.

11. Disconnect clutch housing mounting bracket.
• Whilst supporting the catalyst/downpipe remove the two bolts.
• Lower the catalyst/downpipe.
Install

CAUTION:

You must never use jointing compound forward of the catalyst when installing exhaust components.

12. Fit the catalyst/downpipe to the exhaust manifold.
• Clean the manifold flange to remove any carbon deposits.
• Clean the manifold studs and coat with anti ‐ seize grease.

13. Refit the remaining components in reverse order.

14. Refit the muffler flange.
• Clean the muffler flange to remove any carbon deposits.
• Clean the muffler studs and coat with anti ‐ seize grease.

15. Refit the remaining components in reverse order.
