Starter Motor (2,5l TDI Diesel) - Remove and Install (26 204 0)

Removal and Installation

Special Tools

21-140Engine Support Bar

Remove

1. Disconnect the battery earth lead.

2. Attach the engine support bar service tool No. 21-140.

3. Raise the vehicle and remove the under shield.

4. Remove the lower intercooler hose.

5. Remove the starter motor support bracket fixings.

6. Remove the support bracket and heat shield.

7. Remove the engine mount and insulator assembly.

8. Disconnect the starter motor electric cables.

1. Undo the retaining nuts.

2. Disconnect the multiplug.

9. Remove the starter motor.

1. Remove the bottom bolt.

2. Remove the top bolt.

Install

10. Refit the components in reverse order.

11. Refit the undershield and lower the vehicle.

12. Remove the engine support bar.

13. Reconnect the battery earth lead.
