Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Raise the vehicle.
  1. Drain the master cylinder reservoir.
    • Using a suitable container and tubes, release both the front brake bleed nipples. Pump the brake pedal until no resistance is felt.

  1. Release three exhaust insulators.
    • Allow the exhaust to rest on the rear cross beam.

  1. Remove the rear heat shield (seven fastenings).

  1. Disconnect the multiplug.

  1. Remove the cable support bracket (two screws).

  1. Release the brake pipes (four clips).

  1. Detach the hydraulic unit (three bolts).

  1. Disconnect the multiplug.

  1. Disconnect the six brake pipes.
    • Remove the unit and bracket.

  1. Remove the bracket (three nuts).

  1. Detach the hydraulic unit from the rubber mountings.
    • Lift the unit off the bracket.

Installation

  1. Refit the components in reverse order.

  1. Bleed the braking system. For additional information, refer to Section  206-00 Brake System - General Information.
