Remover Power Steering Pump Pulley

1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

2. Remove the air deflector.

3. Using the special tool, disconnect the power steering gear to power steering fluid reservoir return hose.
   1. Insert the special tool into the spring lock coupling.
   2. Slide the special tool along the line to release the locking tangs.
   • Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

4. Lower the vehicle.

5. Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to Section  303-05 Accessory Drive.

6. Using the special tool, remove the power steering pump pulley.

7. 

   CAUTION:Protect the generator with lint free material to prevent contamination.
   Disconnect the power steering line from the power steering pump.
   • Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

8. Detach the coolant bleed hose from the power steering hose.
   • Release the clip.

9. 

   CAUTION:Protect the generator with lint free material to prevent contamination.
   Using the special tool, disconnect the power steering hose from the power steering pump.
   • Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

10. Detach the generator wiring harness from the power steering pump.

11. Remove the power steering pump (wiring harness bracket shown removed for clarity).

12. Remove the power steering pump.

1. 

   NOTE:If installing a new power steering pump, the unions supplied with the new pump should be removed and retained for further use.
   Using the special tool, install a new O-ring seal onto the power steering pump to steering gear line union.
   1. Push the O-ring seal onto the special tool.
   2. Locate the special tool onto the union and push on the O-ring seal.

2. Install the power steering pump.

3. Connect the power steering line to the power steering pump.

4. Attach the generator wiring harness to the power steering pump.

5. Using the special tool, connect the power steering hose to the power steering pump.

6. Attach the coolant bleed hose to the power steering hose.

7. Using the special tool, install the power steering pump pulley.

8. Install the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to Section  303-05 Accessory Drive.

9. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

10. Connect the steering gear to power steering fluid reservoir return hose spring lock coupling.

11. Install the air deflector.

12. Lower the vehicle.

13. Fill and bleed the power steering system. For additional information, refer to Section  211-00 Steering System - General Information.
