Removal and Installation

Special Tool(s)

Wrench, fuel tank sender unit

Removal

WARNING:
WARNING:This procedure involves fuel handling. Be prepared for fuel spillage at all times and always observe fuel handling precautions.
CAUTION:
CAUTION:Disconnect the battery negative lead.
NOTE:
NOTE:It will be necessary to raise the vehicle in order to carry out this procedure.
  1. Remove the fuel tank. For additional information, refer to Section  310-01 Fuel Tank and Lines.

  1. Disconnect the fuel supply pipe from the fuel tank.
    • Fuel supply pipe connectors are white or are identified by a white band.

  1. Remove the fuel pump/sender unit locking ring anticlockwise.

  1. Remove the fuel pump/sender unit locking ring insert.

  1. Remove the fuel pump/sender unit.

  1. Remove the fuel pump/sender unit seal.

Installation

  1. Refit the components in reverse order.
    • Renew the fuel pump/sender unit seal.
