Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Remove the exterior mirror. For additional information, refer to Section  501-09 Rear View Mirrors.

  1. Connect the power window control switch electrical connector.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Do not touch the adhesive surface as re-bonding will be impaired.
    Detach the watershield from the front door panel.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:When detaching the inner and outer ends of the weatherstrip, take care not to damage the weatherstrip.
    CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Do not touch the adhesive surface as re-bonding will be impaired.
    Detach the front door window glass weatherstrip from the front door panel.
    1. Remove the push-pin retainers.
    1. Using a plastic knife (disposable cutlery), cut through the adhesive to enable the inner and outer ends to be peeled back.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:When removing the inner and outer sections of the weatherstrip, take care not to damage the weatherstrip.
    Remove the front door window glass weatherstrip.
    1. Detach the outer section of the weatherstrip from the door panel.
    1. Detach the inner section of the weatherstrip from the door panel.

  1. Loosen the front door window glass clamp to window regulator retaining bolts.
    • Align the window glass clamp to window regulator bolts with the access holes.

  1. Remove the front door window glass.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:This step should only be carried out when installing a new front door window glass.
    Remove the front door window glass clamps.
    • Remove the bolts.

Installation
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:This step should only be carried out when installing a new front door window glass.
    Install the front door window glass clamps.

  1. Attach the front door window glass to the window regulator.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Do not fully tighten the retaining bolts at this stage.
    Install the front door window glass clamp to window regulator retaining bolts.
    • Align the window glass clamp to window regulator bolts with the access holes.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:When attaching the inner and outer sections of the front door weatherstrip, take care not to damage the weatherstrip.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Check the weatherstrip for damage and install a new weatherstrip if necessary.
    Attach the front door window glass weatherstrip to the door panel.
    1. Attach the inner section of the weatherstrip.
    1. Attach the outer section of the weatherstrip.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Do not touch the adhesive surface as re-bonding will be impaired.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure the holes in the inner and outer ends of the front door weatherstrip align with the holes in the front door panel.
    Install the front door window glass weatherstrip.
    • Install the push-pin retainers.
  1. Adjust the door window glass.
    For additional information, refer to Door Window Glass Adjustment in this section.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Do not touch the adhesive surface as re-bonding will be impaired.
    Attach the watershield to the front door panel.

  1. Disconnect the power window control switch electrical connector.
  1. Install the exterior mirror. For additional information, refer to Section  501-09 Rear View Mirrors.
