INTERIOR TRIM - DOOR PANEL - SCUFFED OR DAMAGED DURING WINDOW OPENING/CLOSING CYCLE, BY WINDOW REGULATOR
HANDLE

FORD 1984 TEMPO - MODELS 54 & 66

LINCOLN-MERCURY 1984 TOPAZ - MODELS 54 & 66

Damaged door trim panels on vehicles built prior to 12/19/83 may be serviced by replacing the existing door window regulator assembly with a new
longer stem design regulator assembly in addition to replacement of damaged door trim panels.

1.

Remove window regulator handle.

2.

Remove arm rest assembly including disconnect power door locks.

3.

Remove map compartment.

4.

Remove remote mirror bezel.

5.

Remove door trim panel. (Use putty knife or fabricated tool.)

6.

Remove water shield from door.

7.

Prop glass in full up position.

8.

Remove (4) rivets. (Remove center pin and drill out rivets.)

9.

Remove (2) nut and washer assemblies attaching regulator tube to inner panel and door sill.

10.

Slide tube up between door belt and glass. Remove window regulator arm slide/roller from the glass bracket "C" - channel and remove
regulator.

11.

If the trim panel is to be replaced, transfer push pin retainers to new panel assembly.

12.

Reverse the above procedure for assembly.
