The socket size and chamfer matches the case bore. Failure to use the recommended socket will affect the retainer position, causing potential
repeat service.

Tap the socket until it makes contacts against the case bore (Figure 12).

Verify that the retainer relief has maintained alignment with the retaining pin hole.
