Remove the diode/resistor assembly. The diode/ resistor assembly is molded in rubber and taped into the -14290- wiring harness near the starter
relay. Cut the black wire going to this assembly (See Figure 9) and tape the black wire back onto the wiring harness using electrical tape.

NOTE:

Some vehicles may already have the diode/ resistor assembly removed at the assembly plant. It is therefore recommended that the technician
inspect the wiring harness to determine if the rework has been previously performed.
