Thunderbird V8-302 5.0L HO (1992)
INSTALLATION
1. Position retaining tab on A-pillar limit switch bracket into forward hole in A-pillar, then rotate track assembly upward. If necessary refer to the
illustration at Removal Step 11.
2. Install but do not tighten the previously removed screws and bolts used to secure track assembly to roof rail and A-pillar.
3. Secure B-pillar bracket to B-pillar using the retaining bolts. Tighten the bolts to 23-33 Nm (17-24 lb-ft).
4. Tighten A-pillar limit switch attachment to 4.5-7.0 Nm (40-62 lb-in).
5. Tighten the two bolts holding track assembly to roof rail to 7.5-10.5 Nm (66-88 lb-in).
6. Engage locating tab on motor bracket into slot in quarter panel inner sheet metal, then install two motor attaching bolts and tighten to 7.5-10.5 Nm
(66-88 lb-in).
7. Engage vertical guide retaining tab into B-pillar bracket, then secure guide to quarter panel inner sheet metal. Tighten to the bolts to 7.5-10.5 Nm
(66-88 lb-in).
8. Secure lower belt guide to quarter inner panel using the three retaining bolts. Tighten to the bolts to 7.5-10.5 Nm (66-88 lb-in).
9. Connect electrical connectors at A-pillar limit switch and motor.
10. Install quarter trim panel and A-pillar moldings.
11. Cycle emergency release buckle to B-pillar position.
12. Insert tongue of shoulder belt into emegency release buckle. Make sure there is no twist in the belt (the belt should lay flat against the seat back).
13. Cycle system to ensure proper operation.
