Engine Cooling - Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud—2.0L Duratorq-Di (Puma) Diesel/2.0L Duratorq-TDCi (Puma) Diesel/2.0L Duratorq-TDDi (Puma) Diesel, Vehicles With: Air Conditioning Transit 2000.5 (01/2000-05/2006)
Removal and Installation

Removal

All vehicles
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.

  1. Detach the electrical connector from the cooling fan shroud.

  1. Remove the cooling fan shroud right-hand retaining nut.

  1. Remove the cooling fan shroud left-hand retaining nut.

  1. Using suitable pieces of wire, support the radiator.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.
Vehicles with charge air cooler
  1. Disconnect the charge air cooler intake pipe from the charge air cooler.

  1. Disconnect the charge air cooler outlet pipe from the charge air cooler.

  1. Disconnect the manifold absolute pressure and temperature (MAPT) sensor electrical connector.
All vehicles
  1. Remove the right-hand air deflector.

  1. Remove the left-hand air deflector.

  1. Remove the radiator support bracket lower bolt.

  1. Remove the radiator support bracket right-hand retaining bolts.

  1. Remove the radiator support bracket.

  1. Disconnect the cooling fan motor electrical connector.

  1. Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.
    • Slide the cooling fan motor and shroud upwards out of the retaining brackets and then forwards.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
