Engine Cooling - Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud—2.4L Duratorq-Di (Puma) Diesel/2.4L Duratorq-TDCi (Puma) Diesel, Vehicles With: Air Conditioning Transit 2000.5 (01/2000-05/2006)
Removal and Installation

Removal

All vehicles
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable (s). For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.
  1. Remove the cooling fan.
    For additional information, refer to Cooling Fan in this section.
Vehicles with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR)
  1. Disconnect the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid vacuum lines.

  1. Disconnect the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid electrical connector.

  1. Remove the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid.
All vehicles
  1. Detach the vacuum line from the cooling fan shroud.

  1. Disconnect the cooling fan motor electrical connector.

  1. Remove the cooling fan shroud left-hand retaining nut.

  1. Remove the cooling fan shroud right-hand retaining nut.
  1. Remove the charge air cooler. For additional information, refer to Section  303-12 Intake Air Distribution and Filtering.

  1. Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.
    • Slide the cooling fan motor and shroud upwards out of the retaining brackets and then forwards.

Installation
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
