Disconnect the battery ground cable.

Remove the exhaust gas recirculation valve.

Detach the camshaft position (CMP) sensor from the intake manifold. | | | -
Remove the intake manifold. | | | -
Disconnect and detach the KS electrical connector. | | | -
NOTE:Make a note of the position of the KS and make sure it is positioned in the same position when installed. Remove the KS. | Installation | | -
NOTE:Prior to installing the KS, clean the engine block and KS mating surfaces with metal surface cleaner. NOTE:Make sure the KS is installed in the same position as removed. To install, reverse the removal procedure. | | |
