Removal and Installation

Special Tool(s)

Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS)

Removal

  1. WARNING:
    WARNING:The gearshift system accumulator pressure must be released before attempting any repairs. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
    Using worldwide diagnostic system (WDS), release the pressure in the hydraulic pressure accumulator.
  1. Remove the gearshift actuator.
    For additional information, refer to Gearshift Actuator - in this section.

  1. Remove the gearshift actuator position sensors.
    • Detach the cable from the hydraulic fluid line retaining bracket.

Installation

  1. Install the gearshift actuator position sensors.
    1. Install the sensor marked R.
    1. Install the sensor marked WW.
    1. Install the sensor marked SW.
    • Attach the cable to the hydraulic fluid line retaining bracket.
    • Use cable ties to secure the cable to the hydraulic fluid lines.
  1. Install the gearshift actuator.
    For additional information, refer to Gearshift Actuator - in this section.
  1. Using worldwide diagnostic system (WDS), allow the transmission control module (TCM) to relearn the transmission parameters.
