Removal and Installation

Two-legged puller
M6 x 30 mm bolt
Spacer shim

Removal

WARNING:
WARNING:The stationary refrigeration system must not be connected to the 230-volt circuit during repair work. Failure to observe this instruction can lead to injury.
  1. Remove the stationary refrigeration compressor.
    For additional information, refer to Stationary refrigeration compressor in this section.

  1. Remove the drive plate for the stationary refrigeration compressor.

  1. Remove the belt pulley for the stationary refrigeration compressor.
    • Remove the distance washers.
    • Remove and discard the snap ring.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Mark the position of the connector for the stationary refrigeration clutch in relation to the compressor housing.
    Remove the field coil using a suitable two-legged puller.

Installation

WARNING:
WARNING:The stationary refrigeration system must not be connected to the 230-volt circuit during repair work. Failure to observe this instruction can lead to injury.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Do not skew the field coil when installing it in the stationary refrigeration compressor.
    Using an M6 x 30 mm bolt, a spacer shim and the compressor drive plate, install the field coil.
  1. Remove the M6 x 30 mm bolt, spacer shim and compressor drive plate.
    • Install the distance washers.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install a new belt pulley snap ring for the stationary refrigeration compressor.
    Install the belt pulley for the stationary refrigeration compressor.
    • Install the snap ring.

  1. Install the drive plate for the stationary refrigeration compressor.
  1. Check the clutch air gap in the stationary refrigeration compressor. For additional information, refer to Section  412-00 Climate Control System - General Information.
  1. Install the stationary refrigeration compressor.
    For additional information, refer to Stationary refrigeration compressor in this section.
