Removal and Installation

General Equipment
Hose clamp remover/installer

Removal

NOTE:
NOTE:Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Drain the cooling system.
    Refer to: Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding - 2.3L Duratec-HE (MI4), Vehicles Without: Fuel Fired Booster Heater (303-03 Engine Cooling, General Procedures).

  1. General Equipment: Hose clamp remover/installer

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The O-ring seal is to be reused unless damaged
    Torque: 11 Nm

Installation

  1. Make sure that the sealing faces of the engine block and the thermostat housing are free from oil and foreign material.
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
