Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Refer to: Diesel Fuel System Health and Safety Precautions (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).
    Refer to: Fuel Injection Component Cleaning (303-04B Fuel Charging and Controls - 2.2L Duratorq-TDCi (Puma) Diesel, General Procedures).
Vehicles with rear wheel drive (RWD)
  1. Refer to: Fuel Pump (303-04C Fuel Charging and Controls - 2.4L Duratorq-TDCi (Puma) Diesel, Removal and Installation).
All vehicles

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:The component must be removed by hand. The use of tools is prohibited.

Installation
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Extreme cleanliness must be exercised when handling these components.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that a new component is installed.
    Insert the fuel metering valve by hand until you feel a click

  1. Torque:
    Stage 1:
    5 Nm
    Stage 2:
    8 Nm
