System Operation

Power transmission route in 1st gear

The 1st gear wheel is positively connected to the 1st to 4th gear output shaft by the 1st/2nd gear synchroniser assembly.

Power transmission route in 2nd gear

The 2nd gear wheel is positively connected to the 1st to 4th gear output shaft by the 1st/2nd gear synchroniser assembly.

Power transmission route in 3rd gear

The 3rd gear wheel is positively connected to the 1st to 4th gear output shaft by the 3rd/4th gear synchroniser assembly.

Power transmission route in 4th gear

The 4th gear wheel is positively connected to the 1st to 4th gear output shaft by the 3rd/4th gear synchroniser assembly.

Power transmission route in 5th gear

The 5th gear wheel is positively connected to the 5th/6th/reverse gear output shaft by the 5th/6th gear synchroniser assembly.

Power transmission route in 6th gear

The gear wheel of the 4th/6th gear drives not only the gear wheel of the 4th gear but also of the 6th gear.

The 6th gear wheel is positively connected to the 5th/6th/reverse gear output shaft by the 5th/6th gear synchroniser assembly.

Power transmission route in reverse gear

The reverse gear idler is welded to the 1st gear wheel. It is constantly engaged with the reverse gear wheel (shown separated for clarity).

The reverse gear wheel is positively connected to the 5th/6th/reverse gear output shaft by the reverse gear synchroniser assembly.

Component Description

Synchronisation

The larger diameter of the synchroniser clutch from 1st to 2nd gear, required by the increased transferable transmission torque, is covered by a new design of synchroniser clutch and selector fork.

The inner shift mechanism is a further development.

The selector gate is now located under the inner shift mechanism housing cover.

The reverse gear switch is located on the housing cover of the internal shift mechanism.

The counterbalance improves the smoothness of the gear shifting. Due to its mass, the synchronization shift resistances that can be felt during shifting are reduced. The gear shifting process becomes smoother.

The length of the selector cable can be adjusted.

The spring in the gearshift lever pulls the selector cable into the neutral position of the gate for 3rd/4th gear.

The gearshift lever is locked in 2nd gear position using an adjustment tool.

The adjustment mechanism is located at the end nearest the gear lever.
