Removal and Installation

Removal

All vehicles
  1. Remove the rear door trim panel. For additional information, refer to Section  501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Do not touch the adhesive surface as re-bonding will be impaired.
    Detach the watershield from the rear door panel.

  1. Detach the exterior rear door handle actuating rod.
Vehicles without central locking
  1. Remove the rear door lock cylinder.
    For additional information, refer to Rear Door Lock Cylinder in this section.
Vehicles with central locking
  1. Disconnect the rear door lock actuator electrical connnector.
Vehicles with high roof
  1. Detach the rear door upper latch cable.
    1. Detach the outer cable from the bracket.
    1. Detach the inner cable from the lock lever.
All vehicles
  1. Remove the rear door lock knob (if equipped).

  1. Remove the rear door latch.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
