Air Bag Disarming and Arming
Disabling the SIR System
DISABLING THE SIR SYSTEM
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle's wheels are pointing straight ahead.

Remove the key from the ignition switch.
1. AIR BAG-IG Fuse from the Airbag Fuse Box, located near the base of the steering column.
2. The steering wheel side cap, Connector Position Assurance (CPA) and the driver inflator module connector.

Pull the I/P compartment out while pushing the RH and LH stoppers in.
3. The CPA and the yellow 4-way connector for the Passenger inflator module.
IMPORTANT
^
With the AIR BAG-IG Fuse removed and the ignition switch in the "ON" position, the AIR BAG warning lamp illuminates. This is normal
operation and does not indicate a SIR system malfunction.
