Thermostat: Service and Repair
1.
Drain cooling system until coolant level is below thermostat.
2.
Remove upper fan shroud, engine oil dipstick tube brace, oil fill brace and upper radiator inlet hose.
3.
Remove thermostat housing bolt and stud, then thermostat housing and thermostat.
4.
Thoroughly clean thermostat housing and coolant crossover gasket surfaces.
5.
Reverse procedure to install. Torque thermostat housing bolt and stud to 31 ft. lbs.
