Constant Velocity Joint: Service and Repair
Inner CV Joint Replacement

Disassemble

Tool Required:

J 8059 Snap Ring Pliers (or equivalent)

1. Clamps (175 and 177). Cut with side cutters to remove.

2. Axle shaft (182) with spider assembly (180) from the housing (178).

3. Spacer ring (181). Use J 8059 (or equivalent). Slide the spacer ring back on the axle shaft as shown. Then slide the spider assembly (180) back to

expose the snap ring (179).

4. Snap ring (179). Use J 8059 (or equivalent).

5. Spider assembly (180).

Clean
^

Old grease from the housing (178), and inboard boot (176).

Assemble

Tools Required:

J 8059 Snap Ring Pliers (or equivalent)
J 34773 Clamp Installer

1. Inboard boot (176) to the axle shaft (182) (if removed).
