Beginning July 5, 1983 (Julian Date 186), all THM 700-R4 transmissions were built with a new detent lever to manual valve link (Figure 2). This change
provides a new retention of the detent lever to manual valve link without the clip (Figure 1, past style).
When servicing any THM 700-R4 transmission that requires replacement of the past detent lever to manual valve link and rod end clip link to detent
lever (Figure 1), order the new detent lever to manual valve line, (Figure 2) P/N 8654113.
