SECOND GEAR CLASH - 1982-83 "S" TRUCK WITH ISUZU 77.5MM FOUR SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION

Some 1982 and early 1983 "S" trucks equipped with a four speed manual transmission produced by Isuzu may exhibit gear clash when
shifting into second gear.

A change has been incorporated in transmission assemblies produced on July 9, 1982 (transmission serial #78228). The new assembly
sleeve tooth chamfer shape and key groove has been modified to eliminate the clash condition.

Installation of new 1st-2nd synchronizer assembly, P/N 94115609, will correct this condition.

The Isuzu 77.5 mm transmission can be identified by the clutch housing as being an integral part of the case.

Installation procedure in the 1982 "S" Series Shop Manual 7B11 should be followed when installing the synchronizer assembly.
