SYMPTOM
The security system alarm goes oft even though the vehicle is undisturbed.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The bracket for the security system hood switch sits too low, so the switch's plunger is barely pushed in. When the hood heats up due to high temperature
or sunlight, it expands away from the switch.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Install a washer under the hood switch to move it closer to the hood.

DIAGNOSES

Close and lock the doors, tailgate, and hood. Wait for the security system to set (the security system indicator is blinking).
2.
Lift up on the front edge of the hood above the passenger's side headlight.

If the alarm sounds, continue to REPAIR PROCEDURE.

If the alarm does not sound, troubleshoot other areas of the security system.
