1985-87 Prelude W/Carbureted Engine
1.
Remove air cleaner cover and filter element.
2.
Disconnect three hoses from inner vent solenoid valve, plug two hoses, and connect suitable vacuum pump, Fig. 33.
3.
Turn ignition switch on and draw vacuum of less than 10 in. Hg. Vacuum should remain steady.
4.
If vacuum is not available, check for voltage at inner vent solenoid valve.
a. If there is no voltage, replace solenoid valve and repeat test.
b. If there is voltage, refer to Troubleshooting.
5.
Start engine. Vacuum should drop to zero.
6.
If vacuum does not drop to zero, check for voltage at inner vent solenoid valve.
a. If there is voltage, replace solenoid valve and repeat test.
b. If there is no voltage, refer to Troubleshooting.
