About Hummer
Hummer began in 1992, when AM General started selling a civilian version of the military Humvee. General Motors bought the brand name in 1998 and sold the original H1 alongside the new H2 and H3, which were based on smaller civilian GM platforms. The brand closed in 2010, and the name returned in 2021 on the electric GMC Hummer EV.
