1. Position the tow eye to either the latch (2) or hinge side (3) of the spare tire carrier.
2. Install the bolt.

Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice  (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Notice) .

3. Install the nut. 

Tighten the nut to 85 N.m (63 lb ft).

4. If replacing the hinge side, install the spare tire carrier. Refer to Spare Tire Carrier Replacement  (See: Maintenance/Wheels and Tires/Tires/Spare

Tire/Service and Repair) .

5. Secure the spare tire carrier to the rear bumper latch.
