Removal Procedure
1. Remove the fan shroud. Refer to Cooling Fan and Shroud Replacement (See: Cooling System/Radiator Cooling Fan/Service and Repair/Cooling
Fan and Shroud Replacement) .
2. Remove the starter motor. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement (See: Starting and Charging/Starting System/Starter Motor/Service and Repair) .
Important:

Make sure that the teeth of the J 42386-A are fully engaged into the flywheel ring gear teeth.

The crankshaft balancer is balanced as an individual component. It is not necessary to mark the balancer prior to removal.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Notice) .
3. Install the J 42386-A .
Use one M10-1.5 x 120 mm and one M10-1.5 x 45 mm bolt for proper tool operation.
Tighten the J 42386-A to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
4. Remove the crankshaft balancer bolt.
Do not discard the crankshaft balancer bolt. The balancer bolt will be used during the balancer installation procedure.
