Transfer Case Fluid Replacement

Fluid Replacement Procedure

1. Raise the vehicle. refer to vehicle lifting.

2. Determine if a blue dot is affixed to the bottom of the transfer case.

If the blue dot is present, do steps 3 through 6 and 11 only.

If there is no blue dot, or the vehicle has a vehicle identification number (VIN) of 56TDN136068105387 or prior, proceed to step 3.

3. Remove the transfer case fill plug (2).
4. Fill the transfer case to the bottom of the fill hole with DEXRON(R) III fluid, G/M P/N 12378470 (Canadian P/N 10952622).
5. Apply pipe sealant G/M P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) to the threads of the transfer case plug.
